These collages explore states of being; fragile, fleeting, non-verbal.

Images and meanings emerge and disappear while I’m working. So many choices to make. Reality, fantasy, memory converge. Time and space contract and expand. A shadow peeks out from here, a color from there, an angle, a shape... fragments of images coalesce on the flat surface over time, step by step.

Some works come together quickly over a few hours; others can take an entire season or more than a year for the images to disclose themselves.

The finished work is evidence of a process that leaves me with a joyful feeling of having been given a glimpse into the mystery of what is.
